January 27, 2007 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2) News Release
WESTPORT, Conn. (Saturday, January 27, 2007) - Major Indoor Soccer League Commissioner Steve Ryan released the following statement Saturday evening regarding the conduct of Head Coach Troy Dayak during and following the conclusion of the California Cougars match on the night of Friday, January 26:
"The League has launched an immediate review and investigation into the conduct of California Cougars Head Troy Dayak for unacceptable behavior that occurred during regulation game time and also following the conclusion of the Major Indoor Soccer League match between the California Cougars and the host Milwaukee Wave on January 26 at U.S. Cellular Arena.
"The actions and demeanor of Mr. Dayak are being reviewed and assessed. There is absolutely no room in our game for foul abusive language or actions exhibited by any of our League or Team personnel, including players and coaches, and any such misconduct will be dealt with once the League has completed its review of the videotape and the game reports from the match."
During the match on January 26, Dayak, in his second campaign as head coach of the Cougars, was issued his third cumulative yellow card for misconduct of this season, which carries an automatic one-game suspension, per League guidelines. Additionally, Dayak was subsequently issued a red card, which results in an automatic ejection from the match and also carries an automatic one-game suspension. Dayak will serve his suspensions beginning tonight for California's home match versus the Milwaukee Wave and also on February 3 versus the expansion Detroit Ignition.
