(Milwaukee, WI) Michael King and Leighton O'Brien each scored two goals while goalkeeper Dan Green registered 10 saves to lead the Milwaukee Wave past the visiting Cleveland Force 6-2 Saturday night (1/24) before 6,517 fans at U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee, WI. The Wave, which had defeated the Force 5-4 the previous night in Cleveland, improved its 2003-04 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) regular season record to a league-best 15-4 (including an 8-0 mark at U.S. Cellular Arena) while the Force dropped to 6-12.

O'Brien opened the scoring with his third goal of the year on assist from Greg Howes at 2:03. Chris Dore answered for the Force at 5:32 off a restart pass from Hector Marinaro. King's unassisted goal at 8:01 put the Wave back on top (2-1) and would prove to be the final goal of the first period.

The lone goal scored in the second period came courtesy of the Wave's Angel Rivillo at 3:53. Rivillo converted from 30 feet out on a pass from Kevin Burke to give Milwaukee a 3-1 halftime advantage.

The Wave controlled the majority of play in the third period as it peppered the Force goal with 12 shot to just two for Cleveland. Milwaukee eventually scored when O'Brien tallied his second of the night at 8:22 on a header from 15 feet out on the right side following an off-target shot by Howes. The Wave increased its lead to four (5-1) at 9:42 when Joe Reiniger put back a Michael King shot that was initially stopped by Cleveland goalkeeper Otto Orf.

Justin Evans' goal at 7:06 of the fourth quarter ended Milwaukee's four-goal run but Green and the Wave defense prevented any further Cleveland scoring. King scored his second of the contest at 13:58 into an empty net to complete the scoring.

Green stopped 10-of-12 shots faced to raise his record to 9-2. Orf, who had another outstanding game for Cleveland, fell to 2-5 despite saving 13-of-18.

Milwaukee's next game is Saturday, January 31, 1:05 PM when it hosts the St. Louis Steamers at U.S. Cellular Arena (NOTE: the game time is changed from what was originally listed as a 4:05 start). The first 2,000 fans will receive a Wave long sleeve shirt courtesy of Usinger's and 96.5 WKLH.
