Wave Home Opener Set For Nov. 3 At U.S. Cellular Arena
August 9, 2007 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2)
Milwaukee Wave News Release
MILWAUKEE, WI (Aug. 9, 2007) -- Four of the last six MISL Coach of the Year awards belong to either Keith Tozer or Omid Namazi. On Nov. 3, they'll renew their rivalry as Namazi brings the expansion New Jersey Ironmen to the U.S. Cellular Arena for the Milwaukee Wave's 2007-08 home opener. Kickoff for the Wave's 24th home season is at 5 p.m.
It'll be Hawaiian Luau Night at "The Cell," and fans will be able to enjoy an island party in addition to the exciting, high-speed action of professional indoor soccer. It's the first of 15 theme nights being presented by the Wave at each of their 15 home games. The entire MISL schedule will be released later in August, along with more information about the themes and other promotions.
Namazi was MISL Coach of the Year with the St. Louis Steamers in 2005-06 and with the Cleveland Force in 2004-05. The Ironmen will play their home games in Newark's brand new Prudential Center, whose primary tenant is the NHL's New Jersey Devils.
Tozer has won the Coach of the Year honor five times with the Wave, most recently in 2001-02 and 2002-03. Milwaukee finished last season 16-14, and lost to Detroit in the MISL semifinals in a golden-goal tiebreaker.
Tickets for the Nov. 3 game begin at just $16. Full- and half-season tickets and Flex Pack packages are also available, along with special Birthday Party packages. To order, call the Wave at (414) 224-9283. Online ticket purchases will follow soon after the announcement of the full schedule.
Milwaukee also is the host for the 2008 MISL Championship Final, at 7 p.m. April 26. Tickets will be on sale soon.
