Ignition Announces November 3 Home Opener

(Southfield, Mich., August 9, 2007) - The Detroit Ignition will open the 2007-08 season on November 3 against the defending Major Indoor Soccer League Champion Philadelphia KiXX, the MISL announced today. The game will kick off at 7:35 p.m. EST at Compuware Sports Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.

The contest will serve as a rematch between the two clubs, which last met in the 2007 MISL Championship Finals. Philadelphia won that game, and the League Championship, by a 13-8 score. The Ignition and KiXX split six meetings during the 2006-07 campaign, as Detroit finished first in the MISL in regular season action with an 18-12 record.

The Ignition will play 15 regular season games at Compuware Sports Arena during the 2007-08 season, with playoffs slated to begin in April. The team will travel to Milwaukee October 5-6 to take part in the Milwaukee Wave's Preseason Classic. The preseason tournament will mark the first appearance of the expansion Orlando Sharks, who join the league for the 2007-08 season. Also making their MISL debut in 2007 are the New Jersey Ironmen and Monterrey La Raza.

The Detroit Ignition is a member club of the Major Indoor Soccer League, and begins the team's second season in October 2007 after advancing to the MISL Championship Finals during the 2006-07 season.
