Ignition Dance Team Announce Date for Open Tryouts

(Southfield, Mich., June 23, 2009) - As preparations begin for the Detroit Ignition's 2009-10 season, the club's dance team, The Spark, announces that open tryouts for the squad's fourth season will be held Sunday, August 9 at Bally Total Fitness in Southfield. The Spark perform at all Detroit Ignition home games, as well as at numerous special events and fundraisers throughout the year.
"I'm looking for more than just a pretty face," Dance Team Director Michael Lemanski said. "I'm looking for dancers with substance, technique, style and personality who are passionate about what they do." Lemanski's advice to dance team hopefuls is to "come in there ready to dance - don't hide in the back, come and be seen right from the get go."
Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m., and is mandatory for all participants. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older by September 1, 2009 and must bring identification to the audition. Dance Team hopefuls should arrive in full hair and make up, and wear a sports bra, fitted shorts and dance shoes.
