Milwaukee Wave News Release
MILWAUKEE (Jan. 22, 2009) - Order a heaping plate of nostalgia as the Milwaukee Wave celebrate their Silver Anniversary Reunion this Friday and Saturday. A full slate of activities are planned, including:
A retro jersey auction to benefit Wave of Kindness. When the Wave take on New Jersey at 6 p.m. Jan. 24, they will wear white jerseys featuring the logo from the mid-1990s. Jersey sponsor Road Runner Digital Cable and Wave of Kindness will be secondary logos. The jerseys will be auctioned during the game in the arena annex, and signed by the players afterward.
A Friday night party at Trinity Irish Pub, 125 E. Juneau, from 7-9 p.m. Kevin Brandt from WKLH will be on hand; there will be raffles for special memorabilia and the opportunity to order DVDs of archival games. Mingle with players of the past and enjoy the stories. The party is free and open to the public.
An alumni game following the Saturday night Wave vs. New Jersey contest at the U.S. Cellular Arena. Among the players planning to participate are Tony Pierce, Art Kramer, Hayden Knight, Brian Loftin, Steve Morris, Dan Green, Pat White and a handful of players from the first Wave team in 1984-85.
Tickets for the Wave game and alumni game are available at all Ticketmaster locations or through Milwaukeewave.com. For more information on the Wave's season or to purchase tickets, call (414) 224-9283. Group discounts are available.
