September 29, 2013 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Johnstown Tomahawks News Release
Jordan Watt scored two goals, including a penalty shot goal, and Alex Okicki stopped all 28 shots he faced, as the Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Soo Eagles 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The Tomahawks took two out of three games this weekend, and have won four of their last five.
Watt scored his first goal, a power-play goal, from the right side of goaltender Paige Skoog at 5:15 of the second period. Mitch Hall and Jesse Kessler provided assists on the first goal.
After being pulled down on a breakaway attempt, Watt was awarded a penalty shot. He took advantage of this opportunity, sliding the puck underneath Skoog and into the goal with 2:09 remaining in the third period.
Both teams had their share of scoring opportunities in this game, but both goaltenders were solid with Okicki stopping all 28 shots he face and Skoog stopping 24 of 26 shots in the loss. The win was the second straight for Okicki, after winning last night's 3-2 shootout game.
Johnstown returns home Oct. 5 and 6 to take on the Springfield Jr. Blues at the War Memorial Arena. The second annual Pucks N' Paws night will be held during the Oct. 6 game at 3 p.m.
