Waterloo Black Hawks Hanson Named USHL/ Let's Play Hockey Player of the Week

The USHL has announced the USHL/ Let's Play Hockey Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week award for the weekend of February 13-16th. Joel Hanson (Elk River, MN) was named the Offensive Player of the Week and goaltender Kevin Regan (South Boston, MA) was Honorable Mention Defensive Player of the Week for the league.

Hanson helped lead the Hawks to a three game weekend with five points. He contributed three goals and a pair of assists, and a +3 plus/minus rating on the weekend. His three-point game versus Sioux Falls on Friday highlighted the weekend. His 42 points leads the Hawks and his 30 assists ranks amongst the league leaders.

Regan was strong in net for Waterloo by earning all three victories on the weekend. He stopped 77-82 shots on the weekend. His 36 appearances and 20 wins rank amongst the league leaders in the goaltending category. He also carries a 2.44 GAA and .911 save %.

Waterloo will continue their home stand next weekend when they host the Lincoln Stars this Friday, February 20th at 7:05 PM, and the Sioux Falls Stampede Saturday the 21st at 7:05 PM. Tickets are still available for that contest and the box office will be open on Wednesday and Thursday from 11:30-5:30, Friday 11:30- game time, Saturday 11:30- game time.
