
Washington Takes First Place by Shutting out Cook County

Washington, PA â The Washington Wild Things (16-5), presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank defeated the Cook County Cheetahs (9-9) by a score of 4-0 Sunday in front of a season and all-time record crowd at Falconi Field. 3,921 Wild Things fans celebrated Father's Day with the Wild Things.
Washington opened scoring in the fourth inning with four runs scored by Jay Coakley, Zach Cates, Jake Bollig and Joe Cuervo. Coakley was able to score from first base on Bollig's single to centerfield, while Cates was driven in by Cuervo's fly ball to left center. Ryan Ellis' double to right centerfield allowed Bollig to score from third and Cuervo from first.
Ben Ally pitched a complete game allowing only four hits with 12 strikeouts. This improves his personal record to 1-2. James Clelland (4-1) took the loss for Cook County.
The victory is the sixth straight for the Wild Things, the 16th season victory, and the 11th time the Washington Club has been victorious in front of the home crowd.
The Wild Things begin a six game road trip on Tuesday June 17th , where they will play the Kenosha Mammoths. The next home stand for the Wild Things will begin on Tuesday June 24th with the Evansville Otters.
