The Gateway Grizzlies dropped their second straight game to the Evansville Otters 9-2 in front of 4,365 Sunday night at GMC Stadium. The Grizzlies drop to 13-6, while Evansville improves to 12-8 for the season.
The Otters used a team-record five home runs to take out the Grizzlies Sunday.
The Grizzlies scored both of their runs in the bottom of the first. Todd Oetting and Chris Klosterman each picked up RBIs in the ining. From there, the bats went quiet. The Grizzlies managed just six hits all night, and just four after the first inning.
Pete Buck took the loss, going just four-plus innings, giving up seven runs, all earned on eight hits. He struck out three to drop to 2-3.
The Grizzlies take Monday off before heading East to take on the Chillicothe Paints in a two-game series beginning Tuesday at 6:05 CDT.
