Washington Spirit Release Updated 30-Player Preseason Roster

Washington, D.C. - The Washington Spirit has announced an updated 30-player roster after the first month of preseason.

Eleven players represented their national teams in the most recent FIFA window. Seven members of the roster were called up to the United States Women's National Team for the SheBelieves Cup, with forwards Ashley Hatch and Trinity Rodman, midfielders Ashley Sanchez and Andi Sullivan, defenders Kelley O'Hara and Emily Sonnett, and goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe. Goalkeepers Devon Kerr and Sydney Schneider were called up to Canada and Jamaica while defenders Karina Rodriguez and Julia Roddar competed for Mexico and Sweden.

The Spirit roster has three 2022 NWSL Draft picks on the roster. The players were selected with picks ranging from the No. 14 overall pick to No. 50. Tinaya Alexander (LSU) was selected with the No. 14 pick, Lucy Shepherd (Hofstra) at No. 23, and Audrey Harding (UNCW) at No. 38. The No. 15 overall pick, Maddie Elwell will not be in camp for preseason as she has returned to Vanderbilt for the spring semester.
