
Washington Spirit Names Denise Reddy as Assistant Coach

BOYDS, MD - The Washington Spirit announced today that Denise Reddy has been named an assistant coach for the National Women's Soccer League club.
"Denise is a highly qualified and experienced coach," said Spirit general manager and head coach Jim Gabarra. "We are extremely fortunate to have her working for the Spirit. I am confident that she will be a valuable asset to our club."
Denise Reddy has served as head coach of Vittsjö GIK and Linköping FC in Sweden and B93/HIK/Skjold in Denmark. Previously, she was an assistant coach for Chicago Red Stars from 2008-2010 and Jersey Sky Blue from 2006-2008. Reddy holds a UEFA Pro License.
"I am absolutely delighted to be joining the Washington Spirit organization," said Denise Reddy. "The Spirit is an extremely professional organization with a great outreach and connection to the community. Jim Gabarra is one of the most experienced coaches in the league, and I am really looking forward to working with him. I will look to help strengthen an already established team with my qualities and experience from both the US and abroad."
From 1995-2005, Reddy played center back for Malmö FF in Sweden, reaching the Champions League semi-finals in 2004. She played college soccer for Rutgers University, where she was a four year starter and an NSCAA All-American.
