Washington, PA -Â Â The Washington Wild Things defeated the Evansville Otters in blow out fashion. The Wild Things blanked the Otters in six innings of play by a final score of 8-0. Wild Things pitcher Trevor Foss was nearly flawless, finishing the day with nine strikeouts and surrendering zero runs in all six innings pitched.
Washington found the early lead in the first inning. A walk and stolen base by Jamal Austin and single by Jimmy Yezzo set up a David Popkins RBI double giving the Wild Things an early 1-0 lead. A sac fly from Ricky Rodriguez brought in Jimmy Yezzo extending the lead to 2-0. The hitting continued in the bottom of the 2nd when Logan Uxa reached second with a double. Alex McKeon also registered an RBI with a single that scored Uxa extending the lead to 3-0. A single by Jamal Austin and 4-3 putout from Jimmy Yezzo tacked on two more runs before the end of the inning.
