STANLEY CUP AT WARRIORS BBQ

The most famous trophy in hockey made a stop in Moose Jaw Monday, courtesy of Chicago Blackhawks Equipment Manager, Troy Parchman. Troy Parchman is currently in his 14th year with the Chicago Blackhawks after joining the organization in 1994. A native of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Parchman has 24 years of equipment management experience. Troy brought the cup to the Moose Jaw Warriors Season Ticket Holder BBQ at Connor Park. Hundreds of fans came down for a chance to take a photo with the cup and meet Troy.

The entire Moose Jaw Warriors team was on hand donning their new 3rd jerseys for this season. The Warriors would like to extend a big thank you to Troy and the Blackhawks for sharing the cup with Moose Jaw and the Warriors.

PRE‐SEASON RECAP

GAME 1 VS SWIFT CURRENT BRONCOS

The Warriors started off the season with a 4‐2 win at the Moose Jaw Civic Center on September 1st. Bronco's got on the board first and kept the Warriors off the score sheet for the fist period. Warriors rookie Matt Grant scored on the power play half way through the second to tie the game at one a piece. The third period had Morgan Rielly from Carter Hansen and Travis Brown, scoring another power play goal only minutes into the period. Import Michal Hlinka followed up Rielly's goal not even a minute later on a second power play goal. Swift Current would bank one last goal behind Brandon Stone, but Warrior Braiden Doucette would finish off the night with the fourth Warriors goal. Final score, 4‐2; Warriors blasted 40 shots Swift Current's way and only allowed 18 shots on their own net minder.

GAME 2 @ REGINA PATS

The Warriors started their second pre‐season match up strong with a goal from Joey Kornelsen. Tony Honejsek would follow that up with another. Pat's would get on the board before the end of the first. The Warriors would not manage another goal in the game; Dylan McIlrath did take on Andrew Rieder and would leave the game for his fight. Final score 5‐2 Regina; Jeff Bosch was in net for the entire game.

GAME 3 VS REGINA PATS

The second game of the home and home series was in the Warriors favour. Collin Bowman made a few early hits that elicited some cheers from the Moose Jaw crowd. The score sheet was empty after the first period. Period two featured two early Warriors goals. Spencer Edwards from Nathan MacMaster and Dylan Hood on the power play at 2:54 would be the first goal of the night. Sam Fioretti scored only seconds later with an even strength goal with help from Quinton Howden. The final goal of the night came from Jesse Paradis, short handed. The Warriors fired 36 shots on Damien Ketlo, compared to the 14 they fired Brandon Glover's way. Final score 3‐0 Moose Jaw. PRE‐SEASON SCHEDULE

WARRIORS HEADED TO NHL CAMPS THIS WEEK

The Warriors will be sending a number of players to NHL Rookie Camps this week. Quinton Howden (Panthers), Dylan McIlrath (NY Rangers), Kendall McFaull (Hawks), Dallas Ehrhardt (Oilers), Spencer Edwards (Sharks), Thomas Frazee (Stars) and Tony Honejsek (Red Wings). Best of luck at camp to all players!

ROSTER CONTENDERS

Warriors' fans have had a great opportunity to see some of the young Warriors and roster hopefuls. Over the next few weeks, the Warriors will look to solidify a few roster spots. Sam Fioretti, 17, has turned many heads this pre‐ season. Sam scored his first WHL goal vs the Pats. Matt Grant, 17 stands in at 6'2" and has shown a physical attitude throughout the exhibition schedule. Jordan Wyton, another 17 year old, has been solid for the Warriors and is battling hard for a spot on this year's team. Morgan Rielly (photo above) has been performing during his time in Moose Jaw; fellow D‐man Joel Edmundson has also been steady on the blue line. Slovakian, Michal Hlinka has posted a number of points in the pre‐season.

Summer treated a number of Warriors well. Joey Kornelsen has had a great return to the Civic Center, adding a number of assists and a goal in the pre‐season. Brandon Glover posted a shut out Saturday night against the Pats. Connor Cox saw a number of power play minutes in the pre‐season and looks ready for the season.

WHERE WE WERE LAST WEEK....

Quinton Howden and Connor Cox visited the Moose Jaw Union Hospital, visiting the Paed's ward. The two Warriors stopped by the Warriors/McDonalds room along with all the other children in the Paediatrics wing. The Warriors brought pucks and signed hockey cards for the young patients, bringing a smile to each of their faces.

PLANET RED

A tradition started in Moose Jaw 26 year's ago‐‐ a tradition of hard hitting and passionate hockey. The fans of the team were built on the same principals, filled with enthusiasm and knowing the only color that runs through their veins is Warrior red. The Planet Red unites Warriors fans across the globe, for once a Warrior- always a Warrior.

As the Warriors continue to grow and move into a new home next season, warrior fandom will continue to explode as the team takes the next step into a red hot future. Join the many that are already part of Planet Red. Help build a brigade of fans united by the color red and all things Warrior.
