
Warriors to Recognize Santa Cruz's Own Luke Rockhold

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The NBA D-League Champion Santa Cruz Warriors today announced that UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold would be recognized at Friday night's Santa Cruz Warriors vs. Bakersfield Jam contest scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PST.
Luke Rockhold, a Santa Cruz native, defeated Chris Weidman this past weekend in Las Vegas to become the UFC Middleweight Champion. Weidman was previously undefeated before Rockhold claimed the victory in the fourth round via TKO.
The Warriors along with the City of Santa Cruz plans to honor Rockhold at tonight's game with a proclamation as well as a video tribute and presentation at halftime.
The Warriors will face the Bakersfield Jam for the third time this season, with the series currently split at 1-1. Santa Cruz holds the longest active winning streak in the D-League, coming into Friday night's contest with four straight wins.
