Warriors, Tigers Square off in Weekend Home-And-Home

Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
Moose Jaw, SK - For the second straight weekend, the Moose Jaw Warriors will be in playoff mode.
The Warriors are coming off a sweep of last weekend's home-and-home set with the Swift Current Broncos.
Now the team is preparing to battle the Medicine Hat Tigers in another home-and-home set.
"We're looking forward to it a lot, real good team in Med Hat, so it will be a real good challenge for us," Warriors forward Brayden Yager said.
The Warriors enter the weekend set having won five straight and 10 of their last 11 games, which has moved them three points back of the Tigers for second place in the Eastern Conference.
"It adds a little bit of flavour to the weekend," Warriors head coach Mark O'Leary said. "You have the standings, which we're constantly looking at, and it just makes it fun.
"Medicine Hat is a team that we're chasing, a team that is really good, we've had some good games against them already and we're looking forward to the challenge."
Moose Jaw has had a week of practice to prepare for the weekend showdown.
O'Leary said that was important after a busy stretch following the WHL Trade Deadline.
"It was a real good week," he said. "We got some good work done, we've got everybody in town here now and it was a good week for the players, they had some time to get a bit of rest, they put in the work that they needed to, but it's about them being around each other and building a bit of chemistry and we did that this week."
The Tigers went 1-1-1 during their three games in three nights road trip last weekend, ending with a 7-3 win in Brandon last Sunday.
The Warriors and Tigers have split their two meetings so far this season with the road team winning both games. The Warriors won 4-3 in Medicine Hat, while the Tigers won 2-1 in a shootout in Moose Jaw.
"They've got a lot of good players, a lot of guys that can wheel around and do some pretty fancy things, if we play tight checking, we'll be fine," Yager said.
The Warriors and Tigers meet at 7 p.m. on Friday night at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. The two sides then face off on Saturday night at Co-op Place in Medicine Hat.
