Warriors Sweep Weekend Series with Legends

SANTA CRUZ, CA - The Santa Cruz Warriors (9-6) saw all eight active players hit double figures as they took down the Texas Legends (8-7) 139-126.
The Legends opened with seven unanswered points before Javan Johnson put Santa Cruz on the board. The Warriors hit a 10-0 run of their own to take their first lead and built up a nine-point advantage near the two-minute mark. Texas chipped away but the home team held a 35-32 edge going into the second. Texas again opened the quarter on a streak, 11-0 this time, and turned the tables heading into halftime up 75-72.
The two exchanged baskets and leads to open the third. Four minutes into the quarter the Legends went up six, but the Warriors responded with a 15-0 run and took their first double-digit lead with three minutes to play. Greg Brown III grabbed the first basket of the fourth for Texas to make it a three-point contest and it stayed close until the final three minutes. Pat Spencer hit a long jumper to bring the Warriors back to double-digits and the home team clinched the weekend series sweep.
Brown led the Legends with 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Jordan Walker came off the bench for 21 points, 5 assists. Justin Jackson finished with 17 points, 5 rebounds and Theo Pinson added 15 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals. Olivier-Maxence Prosper tagged on 12 points, 5 rebounds, and Dexter Dennis went 3-of-3 outside to put up 11 points, 2 rebounds off the bench.
Spencer led all scorers with 29 points, 5 rebounds while Kendric Davis added a double-double of 24 points, 4 rebounds, 11 assists, and 4 steals. Jimmy Whitt came off the bench for 20 points, 8 rebounds, and Jackson Rowe tallied 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals.
The Legends continue their six-game road streak with a trip to Oklahoma City to take on the Blue Tuesday at 7pm CT. The game will be broadcast live on the UEN app and urbanedge.network.
