Warriors Mount Fourth Quarter Comeback to Edge Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. - The Santa Cruz Warriors came back from a 15-point deficit to defeat the Tulsa 66ers 102-99 Friday night.

Santa Cruz was led by Daniel Nwaelele and Cameron Jones, who each scored 19 points. Nwaelele grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, while Scott Machado scored 18 points and dished out a Santa Cruz-high four assists off the bench. Hilton Armstrong scored 16 points, while Dominic McGuire chipped in with 12.

Tulsa's Reggie Williams led all scorers with 21 points. Rodney Bartholomew logged a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 19 rebounds, while Ron Anderson also posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. Isaiah Wilkerson had a game-high five assists.

The Warriors scored first and retained the lead until Tulsa went ahead 47-44 on a Reggie Williams three-pointer with 2:30 left in the second quarter. Tulsa increased its lead to as much as 15 in the third, entering the final frame ahead by nine. Santa Cruz was down by 12 with 7:01 left in the game, but the Warriors went on a 13-0 run to take their first lead of the second half. The contest was tied at 95 with 1:23 remaining, but the Warriors won behind the free throw shooting of Cameron Jones, who scored 12 of his 19 points in the fourth.

The Warriors outshot the 66ers (43.8%-38.2%), scored more points in the paint (50-46) and committed fewer turnovers (13-15). Tulsa held the advantage on the boards (53-38) and assists (19-14).
