FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), hosted the defending-champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers handing them their sixth loss of the season 146-121.
The Legends set the tone early, going up by 20 in the first quarter. A balanced attack from all five starters took them into halftime up 80-57. Texas went up by as many as 38 points, but finished the night up 25 with a season-high 146, shooting 55.6%, while the Vipers pounded through to 121 shooting 44.6%.
Mickey McConnell had a season-high 17 assists along with 16 points for one of the Legends' three double-doubles. PJ Hairston recorded 40 points in 38 minutes, hitting 14 of 24 and grabbing 5 boards. Devin Ebanks put up 28 points and 10 rebounds, adding another double-double alongside Terrel Harris with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Troy Daniels led the Vipers with 30 points and 3 rebounds, while Dario Hunt came off the bench to tally the team's only double-double of 16 points and 11 boards.
The Legends hosted students, faculty, staff and parents from Frisco ISD for Frisco Education Foundation night. The team wore customized jerseys thanks to the generosity of Community National Title and celebrated the mission and efforts of both the school district and the foundation in building a brighter tomorrow.
