Santa Cruz Warriors News Release
FRISCO, TX. - The Santa Cruz Warriors (14-9) defeated the Texas Legends (13-11) 139-118 Saturday night at Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. Despite having just nine active players available, the Warriors earned their largest win of the season with a 21-point victory, hitting 57 percent from the field in their first win against the Legends this season (1-2).
The Warriors recorded new season highs in total points scored (139), three-point field goals made (20) and assists (32). Seven out of the nine active Warriors players finished in double figures, led by Andrew Harrison, who tallied 25 points and 10 assists for his first double-double of the season.
Isaiah Reese made his first professional start Saturday night and finished the game with career highs of 15 points and eight assists to go along with four rebounds in 31 minutes. Reese converted back-to-back three-pointers to end the first half and give the Warriors a 19-point lead (68-49) heading into the break.
Ryan Taylor also recorded a career high with 21 points in 20 minutes. Taylor converted his first five shots and finished the night 7-of-10 from the field. Juan Toscano-Anderson finished the game with 15 total points while hitting three of his five 3-point attempts.
Texas Legends forward Aric Holman led the team with 23 points and 10 rebounds. A small push in the fourth quarter brought the Legends within 25 points early in the quarter but never seriously threatened after the Warriors built a game-high 37-point edge late in the third quarter.
The Warriors will now travel to Southaven, Mississippi, to take on the Memphis Hustle on Monday, January 13 at 5 p.m. PST. The Warriors will return to Kaiser Permanente Arena on Saturday, January 18, for a 7 p.m. PST tip against the Oklahoma City Blue.
