Wardogs announce training camp roster

Columbus, GA - The Columbus Wardogs have 30 players under contract as they begin training camp for the 2004 season.

The training camp roster includes only six returning players as head coach John Fourcade is bringing more experience and size to Columbus. The returning Wardogs are OL/DL David Barnard, WR/DB Adrian Cockfield, OL/DL Darin Damron, FB/LB Roger Terry and WR/DB Terence Samuel. Added to the mix are several standout veteran af2 players including QB Chris Windsor (Birmingham), FB/LB Johnny Frost (Florida), OL/DL Adrian Pruitt (Bakersfield) and WR/DB Terrell Sutton (Florida).

Several players from the Chattahoochee Valley are trying to make this year's team including Troy Bergeron (Columbus), Corey Bradfield (LaGrange), Ty Duncan (Albany), Joe Duplan (Phenix City), Kenyatta Johnson (Eufaula) and Robert Malone (Phenix City).

Three players hail from SEC schools: David Barnard (Florida), Cleon Jones (South Carolina) and Clarence Parker (Mississippi State).

Fourcade plans to sign more players for training camp before cutting down to 21 players for the regular season. The Wardogs will host Australia in an international exhibition game on March 28 before kicking-off the 2004 season on April 10 at Wilkes-Barre, PA.
