Spiderman to appear at final Wardogs game of season

Columbus, GA - The Columbus Wardogs are throwing a huge “end-of-the-year” party on Saturday, July 31 at 7:30pm ET at the Columbus Civic Center. The final game of the 2004 season features the Wardogs hosting the Memphis Xplorers. The night has been dubbed “Fan Appreciation Night” and in addition to an exciting arena football game, fans will not go away disappointed or empty-handed. The final night includes:

* Special appearance by Spiderman, who will meet and greet fans throughout the game and give away free autographed posters after the game

* Post-game jersey auction will allow fans to go home with their favorite playerÂ’s game-worn jersey

* Bud Light and Spectrum will have a fan try to kick a field goal and win $50,000 cash

* Leisure Lifestyles will hold a drawing to give away a brand new hot tub valued at $6,000

* Sprint PCS will hold a football toss promotion with a $10,000 cash prize

* Knology will hold a field goal attempt to win a TV

* Hundreds of other free prizes will be awarded to fans throughout the night including barbeque grills from Masterbuilt, car rentals from National Car Rental, free dinners from local restaurants, free ice cream certificates, and hundreds of other items

The Wardogs will also create excitement on the field as several players have chances to reach milestones including:

* Quarterback Kyle Rowley can become only the 8th player in af2 history to throw for 4,000 yards in a season (he needs 151 yards)

* Receiver Adrian Cockfield needs two touchdown catches to give him 30 and break the current single-season team record held by Phil Taylor (29 TD catches in 2002)

* Receiver Troy Bergeroncan can add to his already outstanding numbers (70 catches, 1101 yards and 24 touchdowns) in his bid to win the af2 Rookie of the Year award

The Wardogs are planning for their largest crowd of the season to cap-off their best season ever. Kickoff is at 7:30pm ET on Saturday, July 31. Gates open at 6:30pm.
