I was hyped up today during practice. Coach Morris said we were going live but not taking guys to the ground and I like that. We have a full pads scrimmage tomorrow and if you don't like contact then you can't play this game. Tomorrow is when you have to turn it up a notch, all the coaches are watching and looking to cut guys who aren't good enough to play on this team. I just have to come out and be consistent.
As for practice today I feel I did alright. I punched in on some keys that I needed work on which helped. I always need to work on things, I always need to get better. I have to be competitive on every single play on the field.
During the morning session we had a walk-thru which was all mental. From as far as I can remember, if your not in you always need to be taking mental reps. I'm a visual learner, so being able to see everything on paper first and then in live motion helps me out a lot. Being able to come out this morning and work on my mental game allows me to develop as a player.
Like I had said before I'm really hard on myself, so whether I make a good play or a bad play, I'm always doing push-ups. This is when my body is tired and saying that I can't work any harder. That's when it becomes mental and you have to force yourself to do those little extra things you normally don't like to do. In the game you're going to be tired and you can never mentally take a play off.
The best part about our organization is being able to see our operator, George Chung on the field working with everybody. He is showing nothing but love for his organization, and he knows what he âs talking about. You can't get any better than that. He just like a coach out there yelling getting everyone fired up, it's great. He's going to make you practice hard everyday, and if you don't, then you're out the door.
After practice during the team meeting Coach Morris said he's going to be making some cuts tomorrow. That's just that way it is out here. If you come to a job and you're tired and you don't want to do this and you don't want to do that, then why did you come at all. You have to come in everyday ready to work. I came into this camp with it already on my shoulder. I'm working not to get cut, I'm working to make this team and elevate my play.
