Walleye Even Series with 4-1 Win

(Wheeling, WV) Troy Schwab continued his hot postseason with a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win in Wheeling on Friday night. The series is now tied at two game with Game Five Saturday night at Wheeling.

The Walleye took a 1-0 lead at 2:08 of the first period when Troy Schwab (3) deflected Shane Berschbach's pass for a power play goal. Toledo out shot Wheeling 7-6 in the first period. At 4:09 of the second period, Shane Berschbach (3) beat Wheeling goaltender Eric Hartzell to make it 2-0 Walleye.

Just 1:26 after the Berschbach goal, Justin Mercier backhanded a rebound into the net for his second goal of the playoffs. Kyle Bonis collected his first of the series when he roofed in a wrist shot at 16:38 of the second period for a 4-0 lead.

Wheeling climbed to within a goal at 12:03 of the third period, but Toledo held them at bay from that point on.

Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jeff Lerg had 19 saves on the 20 shots he faced. Toledo out shot Wheeling 19-4 in the second period.
