Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release
LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that defenseman David Walker has agreed to terms for the 2006-2007 season. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 6' 0", 200-pound native of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia has played his entire professional career with the Ice Dogs. In 124 regular season games with Long Beach, Walker has scored 7 goals, 25 assists, and 32 points to go along with 201 penalty minutes. Prior to signing with Long Beach, Walker played 4 seasons at Dalhousie University in Canada and played junior hockey for the Moncton Wildcats in the QMJHL.
"We are very pleased that David wanted to stay and play hockey here in Long Beach," said Managing Partner/Owner Steven Bash. "After meeting with David, I can see why so many fans and teammates wanted David back."
"Walker is a tough, versatile player that can play both defense and offense," said Head Coach and General Manager Rick Adduono. "David is a team player and another cog in the wheel to help increase attendance in Long Beach. He is a native of Long Beach and adds a tremendous presence in the locker room and in the community."
"Long Beach has been my home the last couple of years," said Walker. "I am happy to be back and excited of the direction the new ownership has shown. I came to Long Beach two years ago to win a Championship and will try my hardest to be part of a team that competes for the Kelly Cup."
Opening night is Friday, October 20th, versus the Idaho Steelheads at 7:30 PM. Season tickets for the 2006-07 season are on sale now, and can be secured by depositing just $100 per seat. Call (562) ICE-DOGS or visit www.icedogs.com for more information.
