Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
In a game that featured 21 combined walks, the Crosscutters used a four-run 7th inning to take the lead in their 7-5 win over the Spikes. The win snapped the Cutters four-game losing streak.
Lance Logsdon gave the Crosscutters their first lead of the night with a three-run double in the bottom of the 7th. He finished the night 1-for-3 with a double, three RBI and run scored. Freddie Matos picked up the only other Cutters extra base hit, doubling in the bottom of the 2nd.
Rob Marinec was the lone Crosscutter with a multi-hit game, finishing the night 2-for-3 with a pair of single, a pair of walks and a pair of runs scored. Dusty Stroup drew a team-high three walks, and scored a pair of runs in the Cutters victory.
Hunter Kloke was solid in relief, despite not factoring in the decision, working three shut out innings. Kloke walked three, but struck out two and did not allow a hit, keeping the Cutters in the game.
Hunter Caudelle and Holden Christian closed it out for the Crosscutters bullpen, combining to work three scoreless frames, allowing one hit, no walks and striking out two. Caudelle earned his first win of the season, while Christian picked up his second save.
The Crosscutters retake the lead in the 2021 SawBuck series, with a 6-5 record.
