Montgomery Biscuits News Release
PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Biscuits (63-70/28-35) battled back from an early deficit to make it a one-run game before falling 9-4 to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (56-77/25-38) Sunday night at Bayfront Stadium.
Most of the Biscuits' offense came in the middle innings. Trailing 4-0 in the fourth, Alejandro Segovia blooped a single into left field to score Richie Shaffer who walked with one out. In the fifth inning, a sacrifice fly from Shaffer made it a 4-2 game. Jeff Malm followed with an RBI-double to bring the Biscuits within a run. The Wahoos, however, brought nine men to the plate and scored four runs in the sixth inning to lead 8-3.
The Biscuits loaded the bases in the seventh with no outs. Shaffer walked to bring in a run, but the Biscuits then left the bases loaded. Pensacola added a run in the eighth with an RBI-single from Travis Mattair to lead 9-4.
The Wahoos' offense started early scoring one in the first, two in the second and one in the third inning off of Albert Suarez (3-5) who took his fifth loss of the season.
The Biscuits finished with ten hits but stranded ten men on base.
Game four of the series is Monday night at 6:30. LH Jimmy Patterson will face off with 21-year old, RH Robert Stephenson.
