PEARL, MS -- Mississippi Braves LHP Carlos Perez completed his rehab assignment with the GCL Braves in Orlando. Perez was activated off of the disabled list and transferred to Low-A Rome.
Perez, 22, was placed on the disabled list with a viral infection (stomach) and sent to Orlando for further test on April 20. He had a 19.29 ERA in four appearances out of the M-Braves bullpen to start the season. Perez gave up six runs (five earned) on two hits and 11 walks in 2.1 innings pitched. He went 3-0 with a 2.76 ERA in 29 outings between Low-A Rome and High-A Lynchburg last season. A native of the Dominican Republic, Perez was signed by the Braves as a non-drafted free agent on July 3, 2008.
The Mississippi roster has 25 active players and 6 disabled.
