Pensacola, Fla. - If not for three misplaced fastballs, Luis Palacios had a pitching line as good as any of his starts this season.

Unfortunately for him, that trio decided the game.

A rough first inning that included two home runs was later followed by a two-run bomb in the seventh in the Chattanooga Lookouts' eventual 7-1 victory at Blue Wahoos Stadium.

In between those two innings, Palacios faced the minimum 15 batters. He allowed just one hit - a second inning single by Ivan Johnson, who was thrown out trying to stretch the play into a double. It was part of five consecutive innings when Palacios retired Chattanooga in order.

At that point, the Blue Wahoos trailed just 3-1. Will Banfield hit a fourth inning homer in his 2-for-4 night at the plate.

The Blue Wahoos managed just four hits off Lookouts starter Julian Aguiar, who worked into the eighth inning, striking out 12 of the 23 batters he faced. He did not allow a walk, improving to 4-3 with 3.47 earned run average.

The Lookouts tacked on a pair of unearned runs against Blue Wahoos reliever Chandler Jozwiak in the eighth, after a leadoff walk and a pair of infield errors.

Following the game, a fireworks show was provided by the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County, which was the game sponsor. It was the only time this season fireworks were launched on a Thursday.

The game also included a marriage proposal during the third inning "Kiss Cam" sponsored by Bere Jewelers. When the camera focused on the couple, the man had the engagement ring ready for the quick proposal and fiancée acceptance.

With their win, the Lookouts (67-55 overall) took a 2-1 lead in the series that now shifts to the weekend with a special Giveaway Friday.

It will be Eury Pérez Bobblehead night on Friday, sponsored by Kia Autosport of Pensacola, and honoring the impact Pérez made with the Blue Wahoos before being elevated in May to the Miami Marlins where he's been a rookie sensation. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive the special memorabilia item.

Ironically, Pérez will be on the mound in Washington D.C. on Friday as the starter when the Marlins face the Washington Nationals. During the few weeks in July that Pérez spent in Pensacola during a pause in his big-league career, he was able to see his likeness on the bobblehead and autograph several of the collectibles.

The Blue Wahoos will have righthander Jake Walters (0-1, 5.56) on the mound against Chattanooga's Carson Spiers (8-3, 3.69).

Pregame activities will begin at 6:15 p.m., including ceremonial first pitches and special guest introductions. The official first pitch of the game will be at 6:35 p.m.

The game will be available on a television broadcast through WFGX (Channel 35) and audio broadcast beginning at 6:30 on BlueWahoos.com, the MiLB First Pitch app (radio), Bally Live, and MiLB.tv (video).
