Víctor Juárez (1-1) tossed five quality frames and was backed by home runs from Juan Guerrero and Robby Martin Jr. as the Indians topped the Canadians, 4-1, in front of 2,472 fans and 121 dogs at Avista Stadium for SCRAPS Bark in the Park Night presented by SCRAPS.
TOP PERFORMERS
Juárez continues to make the most of his second go-around with the Spokane Indians. The 20-year-old right-hander allowed just one unearned run against the Canadians to lower his ERA to a sparkling 1.53 through six appearances (five GS) this season.
Juan Guerrero's solo shot got the Indians on the board in the fourth while Robby Martin Jr's two-run blast in the seventh provided some insurance for Spokane. The two home runs were the first that Spokane hit at Avista Stadium since Saturday, April 20th.
Dyan Jorge finished 3-for-4 with a stolen base while Guerrero, Braiden Ward, and Bryant Betancourt each had a pair of hits in the win.
Relievers Braxton Hyde, Carson Skipper, and Zach Agnos combined to toss four scoreless frames to lock up the victory for Spokane.
