4-RUN 1ST SINKS VOYAGERS

Ogden scored four runs in the first inning, and never looked back as they evened the series with a 5-2 win over Great Falls Thursday night at Lindquist Field. After the four-run first, pitching dominated the rest of the night. Brannon Easterling settled in, surrendering just one hit for the rest of his outing, a solo homer by Matt Jones in the third. On the Ogden side, Jairo Pacheco gave up one run on three hits in five innings, with the one run coming on a Zach Fish solo shot in the fourth. The final run of the night came with two outs in the ninth, as Fish doubled to bring home Johan Cruz.

LASSITER'S STREAK ENDS

Outfielder Landon Lassiter went 0-for-4 in last night's ballgame, ending his hitting streak at nine in a row, the second longest by a Voyager in 2015. The High Point, N.C., native went 14-35 (.400) during his nine-game run, boosting his season average to .322. The former North Carolina Tar Heel has drawn a team-high 15 walks this year, which has his on-base percentage at .463, the highest for the Voyagers and sixth-highest in the Pioneer League.

VOYAGER BATS QUIETED

After racking up double-digit hits in three straight games and four of the first five meetings with Ogden, Raptor pitching kept the Great Falls offense in check last night, holding them to just two runs on six hits. Last night's contest was also the first time all season that the Voyagers did not draw a single walk. The two Great Falls hitters who had good nights at the plate were Zach Fish, who drove in both Voyager runs, and Grant Massey, who each had a pair of hits. The rest of the Great Falls offense went a combined 2-for-26 with nine strikeouts against Ogden pitching.

TRADING PLACES

So far this season, righty Brandon Magallones and lefty Zack Erwin have been switching off who starts and who relieves when their spot in the rotation comes up. After Magallones took the first two starts, Erwin took the next two. Tonight, Magallones gets the starting nod in the series finale with Ogden. In his first two pro starts, the Manhattan, Ill., native has given up two runs on five hits, with three walks and five strikeouts in five innings of work.
