Visalia Rawhide News Release

On Tuesday the Oaks and Ports went at it again in game two of this four game series. After winning game one big 10-3, the Oaks looked to keep it going against Stockton. Oaks would send out Mike Prochaska who has not won a game since May 18th. The Oaks southpaw Prochaska would go up against righty Brad Ziegler for the Ports.

The Oaks got off to a good start for Prochaska, as Francisco Leandro lead off with a double extending his hitting streak to 21 games. Kris Dufner followed with a single and Joey Gomes and John Paul Davis both drove in a run and the Oaks lead 2-0 after one. The Oaks added another run in the second on Jason St. Clair's sacrifice fly, driving in Colt Simmons who had tripled and the Oaks were up 3-0. Prochaska was much like Houdini in the first three innings despite struggling through the first three Stockton was held scoreless.

The Ports scored two in the fourth though, Prochaska gave up a solo homerun to Dustin Majewski his 15th of the year, and Stockton got the second run on two errors, and cut it to 3-2. The next three innings were scoreless as Prochaska left with a 3-2 lead and Oaks lefty Jeff Ridgway was brilliant not allowing a hit in two scoreless innings. Ridgway gave way to Jean Machi, the All-Star starter turned closer. Machi after loading the bases in the 8th,walked in the tying run when he issued a free pass to former Redwood high school standout Richie Robnett, and the score was tied at 3-3. The big damage came two batters later when Machi let up a grand slam to Francis Gomez and the Ports lead 7-3. Stockton added one in the ninth and won by a final of 8-3.
