
Vipers Win Seventh Straight Game Against Seals

The Calgary Vipers have now won seven straight games on the road after a 12-10 victory over the Victoria Seals at Royal Athletic Park in Victoria, British Columbia.
Up 6-0 the Snakes saw their lead disappear and they trailed 9-7 heading into the eighth inning when the team rallied to score five runs to retake the advantage. With the victory the Vipers improve to 12-5 on the Golden Baseball League season and remain a game and a half back in the North Division.
At the plate Julio Ramirez and Drew Miller led the way with Ramirez going two-for-three with three runs batted in and scored while Miller knocked in four runs on the night.
Daniel Buller (1-0) picked up the win by retiring the only batter he faced in the seventh inning while Claudio Galva (3) recorded the save by registering the final three out of the game.
Calgary jumped onto the scoreboard in a big way in the top of the third inning as the pitcher Erik Dessau walked, Jorge Mejia singled, Matt Edgecombe walked to load the bases, Julio Ramirez drove in two with a base hit, Drew Miller drove in two with a double, and Caonabo Cosme drove in two with a home run for a 6-0 lead.
Victoria quickly cut the lead in half in the bottom of the frame as Chris Van Rossum hit a solo home run, Dale Swinford singled, and Wilver Perez lined a two run shot for a 6-3 score.
The Seals took the lead in the bottom of the sixth as Terrence McClain and Brian Rios singled, Josh Arhart hit a three-run homer, Shane Cronin was hit by a pitch, advanced to third base on a throwing error, and scored on a wild pitch for a 7-6 advantage.
The Vipers quickly tied the game back up in the next half inning as Ramirez lined his team high fifth home run of the season for a 7-7 score.
Right back responded Victoria to retake the lead as with two outs Rios doubled and Arhart smacked his second home run of the game for a 9-7 advantage.
Calgary again bounced back in the next half inning as Luis Taveras was hit by a pitch and pinch-hitting Dillon O'Krane smashed a two run long ball to tie the game. Mejia and Edgecombe followed by walking, two wild pitches scored Mejia, Ramirez walked, stole second base, and Miller drove in another two with a single for a 12-9 advantage.
The Seals scored the final run of the game in the ninth inning when Perez walked, Colin Moro doubled, McClain walked to load the bases, and Perez scored when Rios hit into a double-play for a 12-10 final.
The Vipers now return home to Calgary and Foothills Stadium on Saturday June 11th at 5:05 PM MDT and Sunday June 12th at 1:35 PM to take on Calgary native Colin Moro and the Seals in the back half of this home-and-home series.
