Vipers To Give Away Ron Artest Bobblehead Dolls

HIDALGO, TEXAS - The NBA D-League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that they will be giving Ron Artest Bobblehead Dolls to the first 1,000 fans in attendance for Friday's 7:00 p.m. Houston Rockets Affiliate Night game against the Tulsa 66ers at Dodge Arena. Doors open at 6:00.

In his first year with the Houston Rockets, Artest is second on the team in scoring at 17.1 points per game while averaging 5.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Artest leads the team in three- point field goal percentage at 41%.

Additionally, the Vipers will be wearing Rockets uniforms, which will be auctioned off after the game.

All fans will be treated to performances by Rockets Hall-of-Fame mascot Clutch the Bear. He will be part of a halftime show that will include an Air Force swearing-in ceremony.

Tickets are still available and can be purchased in advance through TicketMaster or by phone at 1-888-RGV-NBAD(748-6223) or 956-972-1144. Tickets can also be purchased at the Dodge Arena box office.

For $10, all fans can get ticket combos (one ticket plus a hot dog, chips and a drink).

Fans can also get one free ticket for every four non-perishable food items they donate at either the Dodge Arena box office or any of the 17 Walgreens locations in the Rio Grande Valley as part of the "Hoops Against Hunger" Food Drive, of which BMP Radio is also a partner, benefit the Food Bank RGV.

The Santa Rosa High School boys' basketball team, which advanced to the state semi-finals this year, will be honored during the game.

The first 75 children under the age of 12 will receive t-shirts courtesy of Pena Eye Institute.
