Vipers Snap Stockton's Winning Streak

EDINBURG, Texas. - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (22-8), the NBA G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets, walked away with a 110-100 victory over the Stockton Kings (15-14) on Friday night at the Bert Ogden Arena.

The Vipers got off to a quick lead in the first quarter as the game turned in favor of RGV with a score of 26-22. However, with half of the second quarter gone, Stockton turned the game around and took the lead away from the Vipers with a score of 53-45 at the half.

Stockton dominated throughout the third quarter, but the Vipers were fighting to get back the lead. With 1:36 remaining in the quarter RGV came back to take a 75-74 lead, but with just 41.4 seconds left the Kings came back to tie the game 77-77. An offensive push from the Vipers allowed the home team to walk away with an 83-77 lead at the end of the third. RGV maintained the lead for the remainder of the game which resulted in a 110-100 win for the Vipers.

Gerald Green led the Vipers with 26 points. Marcus Foster fell short of a double-double with 24 points and nine assists. Mfiondu Kabengle posted a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Houston Rockets Two-Way player Anthony Lamb also posted a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Tyler Bey came off the bench to add 15 points and nine rebounds.

Sheldon Mac scored a game-high 28 points. Emanuel Terry hit 22 points and eight rebounds. Both Matt Coleman III and Ade Murky finished the night with 15 points each. DJ Steward totaled 10 points.
