
Vipers Defeat Mexico CIBACOPA in Preseason Match

EDINBURG, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers defeated Mexico CIBACOPA on Saturday night in a preseason match, 125-90.
The Vipers dominated the first half of the game, 64-37, as three players entered the double digits in points. Angel Rodriguez (12 points), Jacobi Boykins (11 points) and Diamond Stone (10 points) led the team. Sindarius Thornwell led with eight rebounds and four steals, adding eight points.
For Mexico CIBACOPA, Jeffrey Early led with 16 points in the half. Early and Josh Simmons led with four rebounds each. RGV led by 29 points going into the half.
Three RGV players ended the night with double doubles. Stone totaled 16 points, 11 rebounds and shot 6-10 from the field. Thornwell totaled 14 points, 10 rebounds and added three assists, four steals. Daeshon Francis totaled 12 points, 10 rebounds and contributed five assists, three steals and three blocks.
Early ended the night with a team-high of 26 points, shooting 13 shots made from the field. He contributed six rebounds and three steals. Jesmon Walker totaled 19 points and added four assists.
