
Vipers Defeat Flyers 7-5 In The Ninth Inning

The Calgary Vipers scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning to go ahead for a fourth time in the game and defeat the Orange County Flyers 7-5 at Goodwin Field in Fullerton, California. Leading 5-3 the Vipers gave up two runs in the bottom of the eighth only to respond back right away in the next half inning with the game winning runs. With the victory the Snakes have now won eight straight road games and improve to 14-6 on the Golden Baseball League season which is a game and a half back of the Chico Outlaws in the North Division.
Once again Julio Ramirez led the Vipers at the plate by going three-for-five with his team leading seventh home run of the season and three runs scored.
Rene Miniel (2-0) took the win after giving up two runs in two innings while Claudio Galva (4) recorded his fourth save with a scoreless ninth inning including two strikeouts.
This season long road trip which will see them play ten games in the next 11 days continues in Fullerton, California against the Orange County Flyers on Wednesday June 16th and Thursday June 17th with both at 8:05 PM MDT. Calgary will then travel to Tijuana, Mexico to take on the Big Horn Sheep on Friday June 18th at 8:30 PM MDT and a double-header on Saturday June 19th starting at 3:00 PM MDT. The trip wraps up in Victoria against the Seals on Monday June 21st, Tuesday June 22nd, Wednesday June 23rd, and Thursday June 24th all at 8:00 PM MDT.
The Vipers return home to Calgary and Foothills Stadium on Friday June 25th at 7:05 PM MDT against the Victoria Seals. On Saturday June 26th the two teams will play a double-header starting at 1:35 PM MDT and it will be Kid's Day at the ballpark where the Inflatamaniacs will perform along with Clowns and Magicians.
On Tuesday June 29th and Wednesday June 30th at 7:05 PM MDT the Vipers will host the Edmonton Capitals for a two-game series. After the game on the 30th the Vipers will host a Canada Day Fireworks Spectacular.

The Calgary Vipers will be hosting 2 to 1 Clinics for Ages 8-14 on Monday July 12th, Tuesday July 13th, and Wednesday July 14th from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM MDT. Each participant will be paired up with another child and one of the Vipers players for two hours of individual instruction and a live one hour game.
