Vipers Announce Signings
Huntsville, AL- The Tennessee Valley Vipers have announced that they have been reassigned quarterback Tony Colston and former Auburn receiver Marcel Willis has been assigned to the team for the 2008 arena football 2 season.
Colston, who previously played for the Vipers in 2006 before playing indoor football in Texas, spent last season with the Vipers, playing in ten games and passing for 941 yards and 16 touchdowns. The product of Tusculum College missed seven games last season due to a dislocated elbow on this non-throwing arm. "Tony had an outstanding college career and has all the attributes of a quarterback. He is a leader and has the potential, he just needs a little more arena football experience," said Vipers head coach Dean Cokinos.
Willis, who played with the Auburn Tigers from 1999-2002, led the Tigers in receptions (31) and receiving yards (417) in 2002, and helped the Tigers to a 9-4 record and a victory over Penn State in the Capital One Bowl. VIPERS NOTES
