
Thunder Adds Two Former Marshall Players

BOARDMAN, Ohio - The Mahoning Valley Thunder is pleased to announce that two former Marshall University Thundering Herd football players have been assigned to the team by the arenafootball2 League Office for the 2008 season. DL Juan Underwood (6-3, 320) and OL/DL Chris Terrell (6-5, 340) become the first two rookies assigned to the team for the upcoming year.
Underwood, a Xenia, Ohio native, spent the 2005-06 seasons with the Thundering Herd, seeing action in 20 games. He recorded 53 total tackles (26 solo, 27 assists), 2.5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for a loss in his Marshall career. Prior to the Thundering Herd, Underwood totaled 107 tackles, six sacks and returned two interceptions for touchdowns, helping Pima Community College (Tucson, AZ) to a No. 5 national ranking in 2004.
Terrell, a Covington, Washington native, began his collegiate career at Butte Community College (Oroville, CA) in 2004. A standout player under Head Coach Craig Rigsbee, Terrell recorded 50 tackles and eight sacks for the Roadrunners in 2004. With the Thundering Herd, Terrell played one season (2005), appearing in eight games and recorded 15 total tackles.
"Juan and Chris are two big guys who will hopefully help our defensive line this season," Thunder Head Coach Mike Hold said. "Having played together at Marshall, they know each others tendencies and that relationship should help us out tremendously."
