VICTORIA, BC, - The Victoria Royals defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 2-1 Saturday night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena in Victoria, British Columbia.

This was the second of back-to-back games for the T-Birds in Victoria. The Royals won Friday 4-3.

The T-Birds next game is Tuesday against the Vancouver Giants at the Langley Events Centre at 7pm. The T-Birds next home game is Saturday, December 2, against the Kamloops Blazers at 6:05pm at accesso ShoWare Center.

Goalie Dorrin Luding made his T-Birds debut in the game making 16 saves on 18 shots. Luding was acquired from the Everett Silvertips on Friday for a ninth-round selection in the 2018 Bantam Draft.

Victoria (18-8-1-0) took a 1-0 lead at 3:59 of the first period on a goal by Dino Kambeitz. Ryan Peckford and Kaid Oliver had the assists.

Seattle outshot Victoria 16-3 in the first period and 14-9 in a scoreless second period.

The Royals took a 2-0 lead at 2:49 of the third period on a power-play goal by Jared Freadrich. Chaz Reddekopp and Matthew Phillips had the assists.

Seattle (11-11-1-1) cut the Royals lead to one goal with a five-on-three power-play goal by Noah Philp at 9:22 of the third. Donovan Neuls passed the puck to Nolan Volcan to the right of the net. Victoria goalie Griffen Outhouse went down thinking Volcan was going to shoot. Volcan crossed the puck to Philp who buried it into the empty net.

The T-Birds pulled Luding with 1:31 left in the game for the extra attacker. They got several good shots on goal but were not able to get the puck past Outhouse.

Seattle outshot Victoria 7-6 in the third period and 37-18 in the game.

Outhouse had 36 saves on 37 shots to get the win.
