
Victoria Seals to Present Youth Baseball Camp

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Seals are proud to announce that they will be hosting a Prairie Sticks Youth Baseball Camp at Royal Athletic Park on August 9! Presented in conjunction with the City of Victoria, the camp will be split into two different sessions, and will feature instruction from Victoria Seals coaches and players in all aspects of the game.
"We are proud to team up with the Victoria Seals in promoting and growing youth baseball in British Columbia," said Jared Greenberg, co-owner of Red Deer, Alberta's Prairie Sticks Bat Company. "We hope that this camp continues to instill and cultivate a passion for this great game."
Registration for one of the day's sessions is just $25, while a whole day worth of action at Royal Athletic Park is just $40 is you sign up now! Details for the morning and afternoon sessions are as follows:
Morning Session (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)
Participants are divided into age groups and will go through a series of stations including pitching, hitting, base running, infielding and outfielding. Instructors include members of the 2010 Victoria Seals.
Afternoon Session (1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.)
Participants will go through detailed instruction in both pitching and hitting. This session offers more opportunities to work on advanced hitting and pitching techniques. Instructors include Seals Field Manager and former professional pitcher Kip Gross as well as members of the 2010 Victoria Seals
Not only will camp attendees have a chance to play with the pro's, but they will also receive a Seals hat, game program, and ticket to the Victoria Seals game Wednesday, August 11 against the St. George RoadRunners - a package worth over $20 alone!
Space is limited for the Prairie Sticks Youth Baseball Camp, so register today at Crystal Pool & Fitness Centre, located at 2275 Quadra Street, or call (250) 361-0732! Please note that registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis and participants should arrive a half-hour prior to each camp session.

Victoria continues their massive 18-day road trip with the final game of their first-half tonight against the Chico Outlaws. The series against the top team in the North Division kicks off with a 7:00 p.m. (PT) start time from Nettleton Stadium. The game will not be broadcast on the Victoria Seals Radio Network, but will be available via online webcast at http://www.justin.tv/chicooutlawsbaseball.
