ROSEMONT, Ill. - For the second consecutive week, a Chicago Dog is the American Association's Player of the Week.

The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Victor Roache has been named this week's Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending June 2, 2019. The honor comes a week after Tony Rosselli earned the same honor.

For the week, the former MLB first-round selected hit a blazing .455 from the dish with a .818 slugging percentage and an OPS of 1.273. He hit two home runs, including a walk-off home run in Wednesday's 1-0 extra-innings win over the Sioux Falls Canaries. Roache is riding an 11-game hit streak and has an RBI in each of his last five games.

The Ypsilanti, Michigan native is in his first season with the Dogs after a six-year stint in the Brewers and Cardinals farm systems. He was the 28th overall selection of the 2012 MLB Draft.

The first-place Chicago Dogs are back in action tonight on the road against the Gary SouthShore RailCats. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 pm from the U.S. Steel Yard.
