
Vibes Put Damper on Owlz Pioneer Day

(Orem-UT) - The Orem Owlz (13-24) did not have a hit after the third inning, losing the series finale to the Rocky Mountain Vibes (16-21) 6-2 on Wednesday night at the Home of the Owlz.
The Owlz opened the scoring in the second inning. With a runner at first and one out, David Clawson doubled, putting runners at second and third. Brandon White then gave the Owlz the lead by chopping a single to center, scoring Johan Sala, giving the Owlz a 1-0 lead.
After the Vibes tied the game on an Antonio Pinero single, Jeremiah Jackson gave the Owlz the lead back in the bottom of the third with an RBI single, putting the Owlz back in front, 2-1.
The Vibes went on to bat seven times in the fourth inning. After back-to-back walks to start the inning, Jose Sibrian singled in a run to tie the game. Pinero struck again later in the inning, doubling in a pair to extend 4-2. Rocky Mountain went on to add runs in the sixth and seventh as the Owlz fell 6-2 in the series finale.
Cristian Sierra (2-1) earned the win while Kelvin Moncion (1-1) was charged with the loss and Wuilder Rodriguez (1) picked up the save. The Owlz welcome in the Ogden Raptors on Thursday night at 7:05. For tickets, visit goowlz.com or call the Owlz at (801)-377-2255.
