Vernarsky released from tryout

The Providence Bruins announced today that center Kris Vernarsky has been released from his professional tryout contract. Vernarsky, 22, had one assist in five games with the Bruins this season. The third-year pro was originally acquired by the Boston Bruins from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Richard Jackman on May 13, 2002. He had 20-25-45 totals and 110 PIM in 125 career games with Providence, and one goal in 17 games with Boston.

The Bruins return to action when they host the Hershey Bears on Friday, November 12 at 7:05 p.m. Fans will receive a free Providence Bruins magnet schedule, courtesy of Shaw's Supermarkets. The Bruins also host the Hartford Wolf Pack on Sunday, November 14 at 4:05 p.m. Following the game, Bruin forwards Brad Boyes and Colton Orr will sign autographs on the Dunkin' Donuts Center concourse by Section 110.
