Ventura Magnificent in Complete Game Shutout of Cougars

OCONOMOWOC, WI - The Lake Country DockHounds shut out the Kane County Cougars in game two of the series 5-0 on Wednesday evening.

The man on the mound, Angel Ventura, shut out the Cougars in a complete game effort. He went nine full innings, have up four hits, and struck out seven batters.

Offensively, Lake Country would score in three separate innings; the second, sixth, and eighth innings.

In the second, Gio Brusa started the inning with a double down the right field line, an extra-base hit that was driven past the shift. After advancing on an error by the right fielder Nick Anderson, Brusa scored on a sacrifice fly by Wilfredo Gimenez.

On an 0-2 count, Tristen Carranza drilled a solo home run over the wall in left-center field in the sixth. Efrain Contreras reached with a stand-up double and he was knocked in by TJ Bennett's base hit. The score was then 3-0 for Lake Country.

After Carranza was walked in the eighth inning, Zion Pettigrew hit a home run to end all scoring with the DockHounds winning 5-0.

Lake Country had very productive at-bats, as they stranded three runners left on base in the contest. The DockHounds are now on a 2-game winning streak.
