Blue Wahoos utility man Josh VanMeter and catcher Garrett Boulware have been promoted to AAA Louisville.

VanMeter was hitting .284 through 30 games with the Blue Wahoos this season. He had added a home run and 14 RBI. VanMeter came over from the Padres in a trade in December, 2016. He was an All-Star with the Blue Wahoos last season and finished the year with a .255 average.

Boulware played in 11 games in a reserve role with the Wahoos. He was hitting .200.

In return, the Blue Wahoos have received catcher Chris Okey and outfielder Daniel Sweet from Hi-A Daytona. Okey was a second round pick of the Reds in 2016 out of Clemson. The two-time All-American is hitting .207 through eight games with the Tortugas.

Sweet was a 29th round pick of the Reds in 2016 out of Dallas Baptist. After hitting .270 with Daytona last season, the switch-hitting outfielder is hitting .284 this year through 26 games.
