Vancouver Canadians News Release
(Gesa Stadium - Vancouver, BC) - Tri-City starter RHP Ben Hughes was determined to help his Dust Devils snap the Canadians seven-game winning streak on Tuesday night and his 5 2/3 innings of work was enough to hand Vancouver their first loss this month with an 8-1 final.
Vancouver's lone run came in the top of the 3rd inning when CF Ian Parmley grabbed a base hit and stole second base before he scored on an error charged to Tri-City LF Francisco Sosa who's throw back into the infield after a line out from SS Jason Leblebijian got away from 3B Patrick Hutchenson going into the Canadians dugout allowing Parmley to score uncontested.
Tri-City would score the next eight unanswered runs with RF Derek Jones hitting a two-run triple off of Canadians reliever RHP Tucker Donahue that scored both CF Kyle Von Tunglen and LF Francisco Sosa to make it 3-1 Dust Devils.
The Dust Devils would put this game out of reach in the bottom of the 7th inning as they sent nine hitters to the plate, scoring four runs including including LF Francisco Sosa who came around to count on a single off the bat of 2B Zack Osborne.
