Vancouver tops Indians 12-7 to finish first half seven games above .500

(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, BC) - The Vancouver Canadians sent 14 hitters to the plate in the bottom of the 2nd inning producing nine runs to finish the first half of the season with a 12-7 victory over the Spokane Indians on Monday night.

After Canadians starter RHP Zack Breault gave up four runs in the top of the 2nd inning, Vancouver stormed back with nine runs in the home half of the frame. 1B Jordan Leyland hit a triple and a double in the inning grabbing three runs in the process while 3B Jason Leblebijian also went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI.

With Vancouver leading 9-4 heading into the top of the 6th inning, Spokane would plate three runs off of Canadians reliever RHP Nick Purdy who gave up an RBI single to LF Royce Bollinger that scored 2B Cam Schiller to cut the C's lead to 9-7.

Vancouver would score a run in the bottom of the 7th inning and then manage a pair in the bottom of the 8th to seal the victory with RF Nick Baligod hitting his 1st home run of the summer off of Indians RHP Ryan Harvey to make the final 12-7.
