Vancouver Canadians News Release
(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - A bloop single off the bat of Tri-City's Josh Fuentes in the top of the 8th inning was the only blemish on a one-hit shutout as the Vancouver Canadians topped the Dust Devils 1-0 on Saturday night.
Vancouver LHP Jairo Labourt took center stage out at Scotiabank Field going six no hit innings before turning the ball over to RHP Andrew Case who pitched a clean 7th inning before giving up the single to Fuentes with one out in the top of the 8th inning. RHP Brett Barber would pitch a three-up, three-down 9th to secure the victory while recording his 4th save of the summer.
Offensively, the Canadians managed the only run of the game in the bottom of the 6th inning when SS Franklin Barreto drew a leadoff walk off of hard luck loser LHP Helmis Rodriguez who eventually saw Barreto score on a sacrifice fly off the bat of RF Sean Hurley.
