Utah Flash Make Roster Changes

Provo, Utah, Nov. 30, 2010 - The Utah Flash announced multiple roster moves today. The Flash have sent Dontell Jefferson and Carlos Wheeler to the Idaho Stampede. The Stampede sent Lance Allred to the Flash, and Walter Sharpe to the Dakota Wizards, and the Wizards sent a 2011 Second Round Draft pick to the Flash.

The Flash are expected to have Center Lance Allred in action as they take on the Bakersfield Jam at 7 p.m. PT. During the 2008-09 season Allred played in 45 games with 45 starts for the Stampede. He averaged 15.5 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.

During the 2007-08 season Allred appeared 38 games with the Idaho Stampede averaging 16.2 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. He was named to the 2008 NBA Development League's All-Star team and was also the winner of the NBA D-League's Dream Factory inaugural game of H.O.R.S.E. On March 13, 2008, the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers signed Allred to a ten-day contract making him the first legally deaf player in NBA history.

Allred began his collegiate career at the University of Utah. After two seasons he transferred to Weber State University averaging 11.7 points and 6.0 rebounds in his junior season. During his playing time as a senior, Allred led the team with 17.7 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. He ranked third in the nation in rebounding, trailing to Paul Millsap and Andrew Bogut and was named to the First Team All-Big Sky Conference.

The Flash take on the Bakersfield Jam tonight in California and will return home Friday December 3 for the first home game of the season against the Austin Toros. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at the UCCU Center.
